PCB has started considering keeping Babar Azam as the captain of only one format
The Pakistan Cricket Board started considering making Babar Azam the captain of only one format team.
According to sources, PCB has decided to conduct a detailed review of the team's performance at the end of the home season, and changes in team management and leadership are expected due to disappointing results in the home season.
Sources say that while the board wants to have separate captains for all three formats, the board is considering making Babar Azam the captain of only one format.
Sources say that after PSL 8, the leadership in all three formats will be decided, and the contract period of head coach Saqlain Mushtaq and bowling coach Shaun Tait will also be completed in February.
According to the sources, many important decisions are expected by the Pakistan Cricket Board in the next few days, including the appointment of the captain, coaching staff, and permanent chief selector.
Sources say that PCB Interim Committee Chairman Najam Sethi's decision to make Shan Masood the vice-captain of the ODI team is also a link in this chain, while Babar Azam's influence as the captain of all three formats is very high. The board has decided to reduce his burden and influence.
