The Sindh government has started Pakistan's first electric bus service in Karachi.


In Karachi, the electric bus will run from Malir to Shahrah Faisal, Defense, and Sea View from today, the one-way fare is fifty rupees. For the first time, the bus will be operated in an international style up to Karachi Airport.


Electric vehicles and buses have been plying the roads around the world for the past several years, but now these buses will also be seen running on the streets of Karachi.


For the first time in Pakistan, the Sindh government has ordered these electric buses, and 10 out of 50 buses have reached Karachi. These buses are fully air-conditioned and have a seating capacity of 33 people and 40 more people.


These buses have a 500-kilowatt battery which can travel more than 200 kilometers on a single charge. This battery can be recharged in 40 minutes. These buses will also be charged with solar energy through solar panels.


Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon while talking to the media said that these eco-friendly buses will not only benefit the economy but also improve the environment.
