ECC approves increase in natural gas prices

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the increase in natural gas prices.

A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in which important decisions were taken.

According to the ECC statement, in the meeting, a supplementary grant of 40 billion rupees was approved for the increase in natural gas prices and the Benazir Income Support Program.

The ECC also approved the rescheduling of the loan from Russia, the statement said.

It may be noted that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has already decided to increase the price of gas, and another condition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has been fulfilled with the approval of the ECC.
