Renowned poet and play writer Amjad Islam Amjad passed away
Renowned poet, writer, and play writer Amjad Islam Amjad passed away due to heart attack at the age of 78.
Amjad Islam Amjad's family has confirmed his death, and the family says that he died of a heart attack.
Amjad Islam Amjad was born on August 4, 1944, in Lahore, he did his MA (Urdu) from Punjab University in 1967, and from 1968 to 1975 he was a teacher in the Urdu Department of MAO College Lahore in August 1975, Amjad Islam Amjad was appointed Deputy Director of Punjab Art Council.
In the 90s, Amjad Islam Amjad's services were again assigned to the Department of Education and he again joined the teaching department at MAO College.
Famous plays and poetry collections of Amjad Islam Amjad
Amjad Islam Amjad achieved fame as a poet, dramatist, and critic, his famous plays include Waris, Day and Pressure, Amjad Islam Amjad's poetry collection Barzakh and translations of modern Arabic poems were published under the title of Mirror, in addition to African poetry. The translation was published as Bright Poems of Black People.
Amjad Islam Amjad was honored with many awards including the Star of Distinction, and the Presidential Medal of Excellence.
