Showbiz personalities reacted strongly to poet Javed Akhtar's statement
Lahore: On the statement given by famous Indian poet Javed Akhtar at Faiz Ahmed Faiz Festival, A strong reaction of Pakistani showbiz personalities came out, Pakistani showbiz personalities condemned the statement made by Indian writer, poet, and songwriter Javed Akhtar at the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Festival held in Lahore and said that Javed Akhtar had so much hatred for Pakistan. Why did you come here?
TV anchor and broadcast journalist, @SidraIqbal reacts to #JavedAkhtar's remarks about Pakistan and Pakistanis. #SidraIqbal, in her show #AajPakistan, calls out the Indian writer and poet for his graceless remarks in his #faizfestival2023 talk.#JavedAkhtarInPakistan pic.twitter.com/HAmlCX1CiE

Thus, several days have passed since the Faiz Festival held in Lahore ended, but the discussion about the same is still going on on social media and a clip of India's famous songwriter and writer Javed Akhtar is viral in both Pakistan and India.
It should be remembered that Javed Akhtar participated in the Faiz Festival held in Lahore, Pakistan at the end of last week and this clip is based on the conversation he gave during that time.
Javed Akhtar was participating in this event after a gap of five years.
Faiz Ahmed Faiz's daughter Muneeza Hashmi runs the Faiz Foundation Trust and was the main organizer of the event.
What did Javed Akhtar say?
a) no one should use literature festivals as an opportunity to make political statements.

b) SIR, at least show some respect to the country where you're sitting with no danger unlike how snubbed and suffocated Muslims are living in your country. #JavedAkhtarInPakistan pic.twitter.com/MW5qyTs5nE
On this, he got a lot of applause from the audience, but at the same time, he says, "The truth is, let's not blame each other, it doesn't solve the problem." The point is that the hot atmosphere (atmosphere between the two countries) that exists today should be reduced. Javed Akhtar goes ahead and adds, 'We are people of Bombay, we saw how our city was attacked, those people did not come from Norway, nor did they come from Egypt.' Those people are still roaming in your country. So if this complaint is in the hearts of Indians, then you should not be offended.
A woman in the program asked Javed Akhtar if you have visited Pakistan many times and you have seen that Pakistan is a very friendly, positive thinking and loving country but our perception of India is not so good.
I want to know that when you come here, do you go there and tell us that they are very good people, they don't bomb everywhere, they also give us flowers and love us. Do you go and tell or not because we want good conditions in this region, let us love and be friends with each other.'
On this, Javed Akhtar said that there is a lot of truth in what you are saying. And, sadly, there is a distance of 30 km between Lahore and Amritsar, yet the ignorance of the people of these two cities and countries about each other is amazing. Don't think you know everything about India or I won't say I know everything about Pakistan. This ignorance is on both sides.
What happened during the Bombay attacks?
Remember that on November 26, 2008, about 10 attackers attacked five major places in Mumbai, India. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station, Nariman House Commercial and Residential Complex, Kama Hospital, Leopold Cafe, The Oberoi Trident Hotel, and Taj Hotel & Tower were targeted in the attacks.
According to the plan, the attackers had taken people, hostage, in many places, so the National Security Guards of India were called from New Delhi. The Mumbai attack started at 9:15 PM on November 26 and continued for three days when the Indian forces announced the end of the operation by killing all the attackers by 9:00 AM on November 29.
As a result of this attack, 166 people including 26 foreigners were killed and around 300 were injured.
During these attacks, the police arrested Pakistani citizen Ajmal Kasab. Kasab was tried and later executed. India blames the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba for these attacks. However, Pakistan has repeatedly denied any role in these attacks.
Reaction on social media: 'Javed Akhtar's sit-down surgical strike in Pakistan'
Javed Akhtar's statement is viral from social media to TV screens in both Pakistan and India.
Most people in India are describing this statement as a 'surgical strike by sitting in Pakistan' by Javed Akhtar, while there are many users who think that this platform should not be used for such a conversation.
Bollywood actress Kanganga Ranaut praised Javed Akhtar and wrote, 'When I listen to Javed Sahib's poetry, I used to think that Maa Savitriji's Karpa is on him. I wish Jaihind Javed Sahib (you) broke into the house and beat him.
Ashish Sood wrote 'This time Javed Akhtar has won the hearts of all Indians.'
He wrote that 'this is the third surgical strike, that too in Pakistan, from the Pakistani stage and among the Pakistani people.'
While in India, after the statement of Javed Akhtar, a certain section is welcoming him, there is a mixed reaction in this regard in Pakistan.
Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid tweeted that he knows the killer of Muslims in Gujarat but he is silent and now he is looking for the accused of 26/11 in Pakistan.
Shaan Shahid asked who gave him the visa?
Pakistan TV Actor Aijaz Aslam also reacted to Javed Akhtar's statement on Instagram.
Journalist Aima Khosa writes, "Only a small person would go to another country and insult his hosts who did not show any respect for his hospitality."
Sitting in Lahore, Javed Akhtar accused Pakistan of harboring terrorists, a user wrote. They ask sarcastically what is left now? "RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat may be invited to give a lecture on secularism."
Khurram Zubair wrote 'Javed Akhtar is known as a literary figure in the subcontinent, he accused Pakistan of harboring terrorists during the Faiz festival but forgot that Kulbhushan was not from Norway and promoting peace in Pakistan. He did not come to give. It would have been better if they had talked about poetry and literature instead of politics.
He further wrote that Javed Akhtar also blamed Pakistan for not hosting Lata Mangeshkar, comparing Mehdi Hasan and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's functions in India. "Don't they know that Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, and, Alka performed live in Pakistan?"
Another user wrote, Javed Akhtar spoke half-truth.
What he said meant that India was an innocent party in all this.
"An artist can be political but he should not advance the narrative of the state."
Taman Jafari says that 'Javed Akhtar and his wife have been hateful, controversial and biased against Pakistan in the past as well, which is not a service to the arts in any way. It is a shame that people in Lahore were going out of their way to give him a warm welcome and he turned a simple question into a politics of hate.
However, on the other hand, many people believe that Javed Akhtar did not do anything wrong.
Journalist Zubair Ali Khan asks, 'What was wrong with what Javed Akhtar said at Faiz Festival? Learn to tolerate each other's words, before peace can be established, both sides have to admit their mistakes, otherwise, people on both sides will fall victim to propaganda and remain in poverty. We have to be neighbors, not enemies, just think.
Talking to BBC's Shamaila Jafri, Muneeza Hashmi said that 'We have an old relationship with Javed and Shabana, it is a legacy of love, which we are carrying forward to the second generation. Shabana was sad that the film could not come due to the shooting of
"Given the political climate in India, I didn't think Javed would be able to come," Muneeza said. So I contacted him in October and asked him if he would be able to attend the Faiz festival in person.
Javed asked in surprise that you will not ask me to come to Pakistan?
Maniza said to Javed Akhtar, "I will be happy to meet you, but will you be able to come here?" Javed said why not, I will come as often as you call me.
Muneeza started working for a visa the very next day and was assisted by the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan, and thus five years later she was able to be a part of the festival.
Faiz Foundation will invite guests from India in the future too.
When festival organizer Muneeza Hashmi was asked about Javed Akhtar's comments on the Mumbai attacks, she said that she was too busy with the event to listen to Javed Akhtar's session.
He said that 'I tried to enter once but the hall was quite full I saw that thousands of people were listening to him with love and respect, and no one said anything in between. So no objectionable remarks were made, no one's phone rang in that session, there was really noise and the audience was just clapping.'
Maniza said that Javed Akhtar wanted to connect with people, so he called for a question-and-answer session in the second session.
He spoke the way he wanted, and people listened to him with great respect, it was very beautiful, if someone wants to do politics, it is up to him, we keep the doors of our hearts open, this is what Faiz Sahib taught us. Is.'
When asked whether the Faiz Foundation will invite guests from India in the future too, Muneeza said that it will definitely happen.
