Indian Parliament disqualified Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi.


According to a foreign news agency, the Indian Parliament has disqualified Rahul Gandhi yesterday after the Indian court decided to convict him in the defamation case.


The Congress leader made a statement regarding Modi's surname during an election rally in 2019. Last day, the court sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years in prison and granted immediate bail.


It should be noted that Rahul Gandhi was elected as a member of the Lok Sabha (Lower House) from the Indian state of Kerala, the Lok Sabha Secretariat has issued a notification of Rahul Gandhi's disqualification.


The case against Rahul Gandhi was filed by BJP MLA and former minister Parneesh Modi, in which Rahul Gandhi was accused of addressing those with the Modi surname as thieves.


Rahul Gandhi made this statement during a rally during the Lok Sabha election campaign in 2019, against which the petitioner had argued that Rahul Gandhi had insulted the entire Modi community.


Gujarat court had granted bail to Rahul Gandhi for 30 days, and Rahul Gandhi has announced to challenge the court decision.
