Controversy over the vice-captaincy of the national team, Shaun Masood out of the first ODI
It has been decided not to field vice-captain Shaun Masood in the first ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand.
According to the sources, two days ago, PCB appointed Shaan Masood as the vice-captain in place of Shadab Khan, but the opinion of the captain and selectors was not taken while making Shaan the vice-captain.
The spokesperson of PCB says in this regard that the appointment of the vice-captain is the prerogative of the PCB chairman and the final shape of the 11-member team has been given by the captain, head coach, and the selection committee.
Sources say that leg-spinner Osama Mir will make his debut in the first ODI against New Zealand, while middle-order batsman Haris Sohail is returning to the Pakistan ODI team after 2 years.
Pakistan's innings will be opened by Imamul Haq and Fakhar Zaman, while the middle order includes Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Sohail, and Salman Ali Agha.
Karachi ODIs Mohammad Nawaz and Osama Mir will be the spinners while Pakistan will field three regular fast bowlers Mohammad Wasim, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.
