Why did Rohit Sharma withdraw his appeal to run out the Sri Lankan captain?
In India's first ODI against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma withdrew his run-out appeal against Sri Lankan captain Dasan Shanaka in what was certainly an unusual occurrence.
In this match, India set a target of 374 runs to the visiting team while playing first. In response, the Sri Lankan team could only score 306 runs in the allotted 50 overs. The garden became a garden.
What happened in this match?
Actually, in the 50th over, when Mohammad Shami came to bowl the fourth ball, Sri Lankan captain Dasan Shanaka left the crease at the non-striker's end and was 'marked' by Mohammad Shami, at that time Shanaka was at the crease for 98 runs.
Immediately, Mohammad Shami appealed for a run-out, after which the decision went to the TV umpire, but Indian captain Rohit withdrew the appeal.
