Murder attack on Pakistan's first transgender anchor


Pakistan's first transgender anchor narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Lahore.


A case of murder has been registered against transgender anchor Marvia Malik. In her statement to the police, Marvia Malik said that she was returning home from the pharmacy in the Kent area when she was shot at.


Marvia Malik said that she was receiving threats on the phone, so she left her home and moved out of Lahore.


Talking in an interview with Geo News a few years ago, Marvia said herself as an example to everyone, including my community, that there are other important fields where transgenders can enter as well while they can make a place in fashion and media."
