If a player from the losing team manages to win the hearts of the people, it is considered a great success.

Something similar happened in the fifth match of PSL 2023 in Multan in which Multan Sultans defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 56 runs. However, in the second innings, Saim Ayub of the visiting team impressed everyone with his half-century.

Thus, he played a turn of 53 runs off 37 balls, but the three sixes and three fours hit in this innings made the fans quite happy, especially his 'no-look shot'.

Batting first, hosts Multan scored 210 runs for the loss of three wickets. Captain Muhammad Rizwan added 66 runs in this, but Peshawar's bowlers were charged with 75 runs off 36 balls by Riley Russo.

Only Salman Irshad was able to take two wickets with 38 runs while leading pacer Wahab Riaz and apart from him Khurram Shahzad and James Neesham all scored 40 or more runs in their spells.

In reply, Peshawar captain Babar Azam was left lbw on Ehsanullah's full ball after scoring just nine runs. However, wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Haris and Saim Ayub put Peshawar's batting in a good position.

A partnership of 47 off 27 balls between the young batsmen was broken when Harris was run out on 40 on a direct throw from Abbas Afridi.

Saim Ayub played some charming shots but none of the Peshawar batsmen could support him and finally, after completing his half-century, he was bowled by leg-spinner Usama Mir.

Multan's Ehsanullah and Osama Mir have taken three wickets each.

After the fall of Babar's wicket, Peshawar's young batsmen Mohammad Haris and Saim Ayub had brought the match back under their control at one point.

Meanwhile, Saim Ayub impressed the fans with his power-hitting.

He hit fast bowler Ehsanullah for a cover drive on the first ball as he came to the crease, then hit a six over a fine leg.

Then in the next over, playing the first ball of Carlos Braithwaite, he stepped up and scored six runs at mid-wicket.

On the first ball of Abbas Afridi's seventh over, he played his signature 'no look shot' which got him six runs. In this, he sent the short ball outside the fine leg boundary and after playing the shot he did not even feel the need to look at the ball.

But a run out by Harris and then a catch by Kohler Cadmore stopped their runs. His wicket was taken by Osama Mir in the 15th over.

Saim Ayub, who has been compared to legendary Pakistani opener Saeed Anwar, has made quite a few new fans today with his shots.
