New record for low score in T20 cricket: The entire team is out for 10 runs, then two sixes off two balls, and the match is over.
New records are being created in the history of cricket, but one record that any team shies away from claiming is that of being dismissed on the lowest score.
But a new T20 history was made on Sunday when the entire Isle of Man team was bowled out for just 10 runs against Spain.
It was not a street match but a regular T20 international match played in Spain.
The Isle of Man is a small island located between Great Britain and Ireland whose cricket team was registered as an associate member of the International Cricket Council in 2017.
Joseph Burrows was the top scorer on behalf of the Isle of Man in this historic match scoring four runs before returning to Poland which was 40% of the total score.
Seven players on his team were out for zero.
On the other hand, left-arm fast bowlers Atif Mehmood and Mohammad Kamran took four wickets each from Spain.
Among them was a hat trick by Kamran. He dismissed Luke Ward, Carl Hartman, and Edward Baird in quick succession in his third over.
The matter did not end here.
The interesting thing about this match was that after dismissing the Isle of Man team for 10 runs, when Spain's opener came into the field, they had full 20 overs.
But they beat the Isle of Man in just two balls.
Opener Owais Ahmed hit two successive sixes in the first over to lead his team to victory.
It should be noted that earlier the lowest T20 score was made in Australia's Big Bash League when the team Sydney Thunder managed to score only 15 runs against the Adelaide striker last year.
On the other hand, the lowest score in an international T20 match belonged to Turkey, whose cricket team was bowled out by 21 runs against the Czech Republic in 2019.
According to news agency Asare AFP, Spain coach Corey Rutgers spoke to Cricket Buzz after the match and said that "Kamran and Mahmood were swinging very well."
His ball was hitting the stumps and the pads. There were just four outs for four runs, then five outs for five runs, and six for six.
"I've never seen anything like it in my life."
He also thanked the Isle of Man team. Not to be bowled out for such a low score, he said that he came into the field with a new team, and "I hope they will not be disappointed with this result."
"I'm sure they'll learn from it."
It should be noted that before the start of the match, no one had any illusions that such a result could happen because in the previous match, Isle of Man scored 132 runs against Spain for the loss of eight wickets, but Spain scored seven runs. He won the match by a wicket.
The recent two-ball defeat was the Isle of Man's sixth straight defeat in the six-day series.
It should be remembered that the Isle of Man cricket team played in World Cup qualifiers in 2016 and 2018.
