Legend League: 'Don't make eye contact even while shaking hands' Afridi's praise, Why criticize Gambhir?
Legends League: Memes rain on the picture of Shahid Afridi and Gautam Gambhir shaking hands
In the Legends League held in Qatar, Shahid Afridi's team Asia Lions made a winning start in the event by defeating Gautam Gambhir's team India Maharaja.
Pakistan's former all-rounder and captain Shahid Afridi asked about the status of former Indian opener and Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir, and both Gambhir and Afridi started trending on social media.
Cricket fans from both countries are busy elsewhere these days. If the Pakistani fans are keeping an eye on the PSL, then the Indian fans are on the ongoing series against Australia, but at the same time, they are not oblivious to the matches taking place elsewhere.
Although the man of the match was former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who scored 73 runs off 50 balls, Shahid Afridi and Gautam Gambhir facing each other was a source of interest for cricket fans.
This is because there used to be verbal wars between the two on and off the field.
In the Legends League match, when Gautam Gambhir was hit on the helmet by Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, Shahid Afridi went to ask him how he was. Gautham's manner seemed to suggest that he said, "No problem, it's a minor injury."
However, people are praising Shahid Afridi's spirit and criticizing Gautham for his behavior.
But earlier during the toss when the two legends team captain Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi shook hands, people are also sharing the picture and commenting on it in their own way.
Gautam Gambhir is under fire because he is a BJP MP and the BJP government does not seem to be in favor of matches against Pakistan.
In this match, Gambhir scored the highest 54 runs for his team and was dismissed by Abdul Razzaq.
India Maharajas defeated by nine runs
Asia Lions won the toss and elected to bat first but lost the wickets of Tillkartne Dilshan and Asghar Afghan early on. Dilshan was dismissed by Ashok Danda while Asghar was guided to the pavilion by Irfan Pathan.
Misbah-ul-Haq then came in and shared over 100 runs with opener Apal Tharanga (40 runs). With the help of two fours and four sixes, he scored 73 runs and was dismissed by Stuart Binny.
Shahid Afridi scored 12 runs off the ball of Awana and his team scored 165 runs for the loss of six wickets.
India Maharajaz did not get off to a good start and Robin Uthappa was caught by Sohail Tanveer to Abdul Razak for a wicket.
Captain Gambhir stood firm at one end but wickets kept falling at the other end. Murali Vijay scored 25, Suresh Raina three, Mohammad Kaif 22, Yusuf Pathan 14, Bani eight, and, Irfan Pathan scored 19 runs.
In the scheduled 20 overs, India Maharajas scored 156 runs for the loss of eight wickets and were defeated by nine runs. Sohail Tanveer took three wickets Shahid Afridi got no wicket.
The third team in this series is the World Giants which is captained by Aaron Finch their team has famous players like Hashim Amla, Tino Best, Paul Collingwood, Chris Gayle, Jack Kallis, Brett Lee, Ross Taylor, and Shane Watson.

One user wrote that 'there should be no fight here', while another wrote that their face-to-face is not devoid of interest.
However, if there are such comments from users, there is a history behind them. Let's take a look at them.
The bitter spat that started between Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, India in 2007 continues outside the cricket field and continues to be enjoyed by cricket fans.
Historical Tip
Shahid Afridi and Gambhir seem to openly comment on political and social issues, so this interaction is not limited to cricket.
Gautam Gambhir joined the ruling right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party in March 2019 and emerged victorious.
However, before entering politics formally, in 2018, these two cricketers had a bitter exchange on the issue of Kashmir.
Shahid Afridi tweeted in April 2018 that he described the situation in Indian-administered Kashmir as 'horrendous and disturbing'.
In response, Gautham wrote that Afridi is mentally retarded in his choice of words.
After that in 2020, a debate started due to the cricket news social media page 'Circle of Cricket' which referred to Shahid Afridi's book 'Game Changer' in one of its posts on April 17.
In this tweet, Shahid Afridi's statement about Gautam Gambhir was published, in which he said that he has a lot of talent, he considers himself a combination of Don Bradman and James Bond, although he does not have any special qualities. Not even a record.
Gautham responded by writing: 'A person who doesn't remember his age will remember my records, Shahid Afridi I remind you that I scored 75 runs off 54 balls in the 2007 World T20 final. was made while you were out for a wicket on the first ball. Not only that, but we also won the World Cup.'
After all, League of Legends Cricket Masters has just started and it is expected that they will face each other many times. Sit back and enjoy cricket.
