Javed Akhtar's direct attack on Pakistani culture
Indian writer, poet and,, songwriter Javed Akhtar has declared the Urdu language as an Indian language.
According to Indian media, Javed Akhtar and his wife Shabana Azmi attended an event launching their book of Urdu poetry where they spoke about the importance of this language.
During the ceremony, Javed Akhtar said that Urdu does not belong to Pakistan or Egypt but to India, this language did not come from outside, it is our own language, and it is not spoken outside India.
Javed Akhtar added that 'Pakistan itself came into existence after partition, earlier it was only a part of India, so the Urdu language does not belong there'.
The Indian songwriter said that Urdu is the local language of united India, but Punjab played an important role in promoting and popularizing it, it is not correct to consider Urdu as a Pakistani language.
He further said regarding the Indians who believe Urdu is the language of Pakistan that now Pakistan declares Kashmir as its part, should we accept it? Urdu should be given attention and importance, but the new generation has forgotten.
Javed Akhtar further said that it is wrong to link languages with religion, language is not related to religion but to countries, therefore Urdu is not the language of any religion but of India.
It should be noted that last month, Javed Akhtar made a controversial conversation about Pakistanis during the Faiz Festival, and since then he was in the news.
