The Pakistan Cricket Board has allocated a window of September this year for the first Women's Super League, which will be held as a separate event from the PSL.

The management committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board headed by Najam Sethi has decided to make the Women's Cricket League an official separate event instead of making it a sideline event of the PSL.

According to the sources, the first event of the women's cricket league will be held in September this year, the women's league will have 5 franchise teams and separate bidding will be done for the franchise rights.

Sources say that the PCB has previously gotten expressions of interest from ladies cricketers from around the world to take part.

It should be noted that earlier, under the leadership of Ramiz Raja, the PCB had intended to conduct the women's league on the sidelines of the PSL.

Sources further say that the Pakistan Cricket Board plans to bring on board the Malala Foundation and other international women's organizations associated with the United Nations for the women's league so the positive picture of Pakistan can be featured through the competition.
