Islamabad: In the talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a consensus was reached on the reforms and the measures to be taken for them.


Sources say that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar met with the delegation of the IMF Mission Chief, and the IMF Mission Chief informed the Finance Minister about the progress in the negotiations so far.


According to sources, the IMF Mission Chief told Finance Minister Ishaq Dar that the Mutual Economic and Fiscal Policy (MEFP) draft of the negotiations is being prepared, and the draft of the MEFP will be finalized today.


According to the sources, the IMF mission chief said that in today's talks, detailed discussions on fiscal policies were held, and consensus has been reached on the reforms and actions taken as a result of the talks.


According to sources, today was the ninth day of talks between the IMF delegation and Pakistan and tomorrow is the last day.

Earlier, State Finance Minister Aisha Ghaus Pasha said that the decisions made in the talks with the Government and the IMF officials have been approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Pakistan needs an agreement with the IMF, talks with the IMF are now moving towards the end of things.
