Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has launched it's new over to provide an unparalleled video streaming experience for data users in Pakistan, and gave new over the Top (OTT) platform, 'Shoq' has been launched.

The new platform was inaugurated at a special event in Karachi attended by PTCL and Ufone President and Group CEO Hatim Bamtaraf, CEO & Life, Khalifa Al Shamsi, CEO Vision Oliver Bramley, and Starzplay CEO and Co-Founder, Muaz Sheikh, senior officials of PTCL and Ufone, leaders of Pakistan's telecom and digital industry, showbiz personalities, media representatives and prominent personalities from various walks of life attended.

'Shoq' in collaboration with E&Life's media and entertainment arm, eVision, will bridge the gap in access to quality entertainment in Pakistan by providing access to the highest quality content at the lowest rates. Under this partnership, PTCL and other data users will have access to media and entertainment content, blockbuster movies, and seasons from Warner Bros., Paramount, 28th Century Fox, and other major Hollywood studios. While on 'Shoq', over 100 leading local and international live TV channels, Pakistani movies, and original content will also be available to cater to the entertainment needs of the entire family.

Under this association, PTCL and different data users will approach media and entertainment content, blockbuster films, and seasons from Warner Brothers., Paramount Production, 28th Century Fox, and other significant Hollywood studios. While on 'Shoq', more than 100 leading local and global live TV Channels, Pakistani motion pictures, and unique contents will likewise be accessible to take special care of the entertainment needs of the whole family.

'Shoq' is a subscription-based streaming app that works on the BYOD model (on any digital device) and TV dongles provided by PTCL. Users, who have internet access and digital devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, Android Smart TVs, Android TV boxes, etc., can enjoy multi-screen services anywhere and anytime.

 Two parallel sessions can be enjoyed simultaneously with the registration of up to five devices on 'Shoq'. The platform will continue to expand its content and services based on its users' activities and preferences on the platform to meet their changing media and entertainment needs.

'Shoq' daily, weekly, and two different monthly packages for all Pakistani data users; Light and Premium are available and packages cost as low as Rs.8 per day.
